History

Westmoreland Casemanagement and Supports, Incorporated (WCSI) was founded in 1994 by the Behavioral Health and Developmental Services Program of Westmoreland County to provide "conflict free" case management and supports coordination services to individuals and families in need of behavioral health, intellectual disabilities and early intervention services.

 

WCSI (pronounced WIXIE), as the agency is affectionately called, opened its door with offices in Greensburg and Latrobe. Within the first five years, WCSI opened additional offices in Monessen and New Kensington.

 

Using a case management approach, WCSI assesses the need for services and then assists the individual in accessing and participating in an array of BH/ID services and community resources. With a "conflict free" approach, the individual consumer chooses their services and providers. On behalf of the consumer, WCSI advocates for not only access and services but also that a high quality of services is provided. In 2000, WCSI broadened its array of services to include case management coordination to out-of-school youths for job training and supports through the Workforce Investment Board of Westmoreland & Fayette Counties.

 

WCSI now serves over 7,500 children, adolescents and adults of all ages in Westmoreland and surrounding counties. These services are provided county-wide from our three service sites by 205 dedicated employees.
